SALUD Youth Councils
The SALUD councils are comprised of young people from rural parts of Fresno County who are improving their communities' access to healthy foods and building environments conducive to physical activity. The SALUD youth councils maintain farm stands in schools and work to change school policies around health and wellness.
The SALUD leadership councils in Kerman and Selma recently partnered with local farmer Blake Kozuki to launch farm stands at Kerman Floyd Elementary in Kerman and Andrew Jackson Elementary in Selma. With the support of schools and community members, the SALUD councils have improved access to local and affordable produce in these communities.
