Marin College for All Partnership (CAP)

Among Marin County, California, high school seniors in 2007, 21% did not graduate high school, 39% graduated without being eligible to apply to a university, and 40% graduated eligible to apply to a university. However, among the high school seniors of color in Marin County, 33% did not graduate high school, 47% graduated without being eligible to apply to a university, and only 20% graduated eligible to apply to a university.1

Marin CAP seeks to address the education achievement gap in Marin County by conducting college leadership academies for selected middle and high school students and their parents in Novato and San Rafael.

Marin CAP is a joint effort of several community partners: the Youth Leadership Institute; Education, Excellence, and Equity (E3); Parent Services Project (PSP); and College of Marin. The Partnership is funded by the Marin Community Foundation as part of their strategic initiative to close the education achievement gap.
