philanthropy programs   Engaging youth
as grantseekers and grantmakers is essential to building a youth-centered community. YLI works with young people and their adult allies, community foundations and other grantmaking institutions, community-based organizations, and public agencies to create new opportunities for young people to participate in youth philanthropy.

Philanthropy Learning Network Philanthropy Learning Network sheds light on and helps remove the barriers to more extensive youth involvement in philanthropy, and how foundation staff and young people can address these barriers.

Students For Change (San Mateo County) A program that works with students, teachers, and other adult allies to improve student participation in important educational issues in their schools and communities.

Youth Grants Board (Marin County) A program that encourages, trains, and provides financial support to young people who are interested in improving their community, for themselves and their peers.

Youth Initiated Projects (San Francisco County) A program where young people, members of the YIP Review Board, are trained grantmakers that relate to the issues, ideas, and enthusiasm that youth grantseekers have.

Building Leadership In New Givers (Marin County) BLING encourages, trains, and supports youth to youth grantmaking.
