Background on the CMCA Model Program

Dr. Alexander C. Wagenaar, Professor of Epidemiology & Health Policy Research at the University of Florida College of Medicine, serv ed as lead investigator in developing the CMCA model while at the Unitersity of Minnesota. Training and curriculum materials have been created in a joint effort with Linda Bosma, Traci Toomey, PhD, and staff of the Youth Leadership Institute.

The Youth Leadership Institute provides national coordination of training and curriculum development for this SAMHSA model program. As a community based institute operating out of both urban and rural settings, YLI brings over 15+ years of experience in engaging young people and youth serving systems into community based environmental prevention strategies.
