Communities Mobilizing for Change on Alcohol (CMCA)
CMCA is a SAMSHA model program that utilizes community-organizing strategies to reduce youth access to alcohol by changing community policies and practices.

- Has proven results in limiting youth access to alcohol
- Improves the health and well-being of the community
- Builds an evidence base for practice and implementation by changing the physical and social environments will have lasting and sustainable change

Translating Youth Development
Provides participants with an understanding of youth development theory
and its practical applications. Participants will be exposed to predominant
youth
development frameworks and their application. This training is designed
to help organizations and programs move from a "deficit" to an "asset" base.
Youth-Adult Partnerships
Provides participants with an opportunity to assess how groups can build real, effective partnerships between young people and adults. Participants will be exposed to the varied degrees of youth engagement that are often experienced in organizational settings, as well as insights from both youth and adult perspectives.
Youth Philanthropy
YLI is an acknowledged and proven leader in the field of youth philanthropy with over a decade of experience in involving young people as grantmakers, as well as providing training and technical assistance to youth grantseekers and their community adult allies.
Youth Leadership
Provides participants with a hands-on analysis of the multiple characteristics and practices of effective leadership. An emphasis is placed on a non-conventional approach to leadership moving beyond the traditional definitions of a "leader" to acknowledge the unique strengths and resources that all young people bring to their communities.
Environmental Prevention
Provides participants with an overview of environmental factors the social and physical contexts within which alcohol and tobacco use occurs, as well as "agent" factors and offers workable and evidence-based solutions to these problems.
Youth Policy and Civic Engagement
Provides participants with an understanding of the foundations of public policy and itís direct and indirect impact on communities. Participants will identify where and how to involve young people, practitioners and community members to support policies that promote positive youth development and community growth.
Youth-Lead Evaluation and Assessment
Provides participants with the foundation and implementation to bring young people into the role of program and project assessment. Participants will be exposed to multiple methods of youth leadership evaluation, and the application of these strategies on an organizational, agency or system setting.
Train the Trainers
Provides the "behind the scenes" training content for both youth and adult advocates and allies. Not only will participants be exposed to youth development frameworks and applications in a "training within a training" setting, but will also build on their presentation and facilitation skills in training with these concepts.
