YLI Youth Learn Philanthropy: $3,000 to Help Youth-Led Charities

YLI youth recently granted $3,000 to eight local youth-led community change projects.

“The grant will help increase our presence in the community and will foster community growth and acceptance for all individuals,” said Ivan, a youth recipient with the Youth Pride Coalition.

Youth philanthropy is part of YLI's Marin County Friday Night Live program, which engages youth as active change agents and community leaders in issues that impact them.

“I want to thank YLI and FNL for funding this important youth education program and for believing in me enough to fund it a second year," says youth recipient, Dilsy, who founded the Youth Cooking Project.

Grantees include E3: Education, Excellence and Equity for their Youth Cooking Project; BAMFF: Building a Master Foundation for Foods for their Terra Linda Community Garden; LIFT for Teens, a Teen Girls Running Group in the Canal area of Marin; Next Generation Scholars for their Community Uplift Project, Art For Less, Pro-Health, and Youth Pride Coalition; and YMCA: Marin County Youth Court, for Youth Court Student Attorney Training.
